The Big E And TPT On Your Radio – Today, Friday, October 16th!

October 16, 2009

Ladies and Gentlemen, yours truly – the ol’ TwoPutter – is hosting the Friday Edition of “Minnesota Matters” on AM-950 KTNF, The Voice of Minnesota! The Friday Edition runs from 6:00 to 7pm. So, tune in your radio today to AM-950, or listen live on your computer, here. Joining in-studio will be MnProgressive Project’s very own, The Big E!

We’ll be interviewing Doug Johnson, President of the Minnesota Farmers Union. A little background: Senator Al Franken co-sponsored legislation requiring “Country Of Origin Labeling” for dairy products, which definitely affects Minnesota’s dairy farmers.

Coleen Rowley, Time Magazine’s 2002 Person Of The Year, will be calling in with an update on upcoming Peace Movement events, such as tomorrow’s End The War March in UpTown Minneapolis (Hennepin & Lagoon) at 1:00pm. Plus, Coleen just might have some information on an upcoming “fundraiser” that just might be headlined by Condoleeza Rice.

Topics we might be talking about include the war in Afghanistan and Specialist George W. Cauley of Walker, who died Oct. 10 at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan as a result of injuries sustained from an Improvised Explosive Device on October 7th in Helmand Province; the trial results in the Kevin Ring Trial – just one part of the continuing Jack Abramoff Scandal/Saga; MN2020’s Property Tax Report, ; and a couple of blog stories we found the most interesting this week – and why!

We’ll definitely play “False Or False Witness!” where one lucky caller will have to correctly identify if a quote I read was actually uttered by Michele Bachmann (answer “False Witness!”) or if yours truly, the ol’ TwoPutter, simply made it up (answer “false”). The fabulous prize awarded is one copy of Bill Prendergast’s exceptional comic book: False Witness! The Michele Bachmann Story (Part 1).

The call-in number to play “False or False Witness!” and to participate in the on-air conversation is 952-946-6205!

So, again, tune in the radio today to AM-950, or listen live on your computer, here.

TwoPuttTommy On Your Radio – Today, Friday, October 9th!

October 9, 2009

Ladies and Gentlemen, yours truly – the ol’ TwoPutter – is hosting the Friday Edition of “Minnesota Matters” on AM-950 KTNF, The Voice of Minnesota! The Friday Edition runs from 6:00 to 7pm. So, tune in your radio today to AM-950, or listen live on your computer, here. Joining in-studio will be Democratic Speech Writer and fellow blogger Brian Falldin along with field reporter/intrepid blogger Dusty Trice.

Topics we might be talking about include the continuing Jack Abramoff Scandal – closing arguments are over in the Kevin Ring Trial and the case is in the hands of the jury; Brian Falldin’s Challenge to Bachmann supporters; and a couple of blog stories we found the most interesting this week – and why! Plus, Coleen Rowley, Time Magazine’s 2002 Person Of The Year, will be calling in with an update on upcoming Peace Movement events!

We’ll definitely play “False Or False Witness!” where one lucky caller will have to correctly identify if a quote I read was actually uttered by Michele Bachmann (answer “False Witness!”) or if yours truly, the ol’ TwoPutter, simply made it up (answer “false”). TwoPuttTommy On Your Radio – Today, Friday, October 2nd!

October 2, 2009

Ladies and Gentlemen, yours truly – the ol’ TwoPutter – is hosting the Friday Edition of “Minnesota Matters” on AM-950 KTNF, The Voice of Minnesota! So, tune in the radio today to AM-950, or listen live on your computer, here. The Friday Edition runs from 6:00pm to 7:00. Joining in-studio will be fellow blogger Brian Falldin. Dusty Trice will be calling in and reporting from the GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Debate.

We’ve got a great show lined up! Major Baker from the Minnesota National Guard will be giving an update on where our Guard Members are serving overseas, and we’ll touch on communications in this digital age. Major Baker has earned a LOT of medals, including the Combat Action Badge; she is an American Hero.

Javier Morillo of SEIU’s Minnesota State Council will be joining us in-studio; somehow, I think the subject in the YouTube below will be part of our discussion!

Topics we might be talking about include the continuing Jack Abramoff Scandal – testimony is over in the Kevin Ring Trial and closing arguments are expected to begin Monday; Brian Falldin’s Challenge to Bachmann supporters; and the Military Veterans Rally tomorrow at the MnGOP Convention. As I understand it, anyone that supports our veterans are welcome to attend – but, if you only want to go for partisan political reasons, DON’T — support for those now serving and those who have served should be non-partisan, and that’s exactly what tomorrow’s rally is. I’ll be there to support as well as cover the event.

We’re definitely taking phone calls — the studio call-in number is 952-946-6205 — and we’ll probably play “False Or False Witness!” where one lucky caller will have to correctly identify if a quote I read was actually uttered by Michele Bachmann (answer “False Witness!”) or if yours truly, the ol’ TwoPutter, simply made it up (answer “false”). The fabulous prize awarded is one copy of Bill Prendergast’s exceptional comic book: False Witness! The Michele Bachmann Story (Part 1).

So, again, tune in the radio today to AM-950, or listen live on your computer, here.

And here’s that YouTube – let’s look!!!

Day 5 of Brian Falldin's Challenge To Bachmann Supporters

September 30, 2009

Last Friday night (Sept. 25th), yours truly – the ol’ TwoPutter – hosted the Friday Edition of AM-950’s Minnesota Matters radio show (you can listen to the archive, here). On it, co-host Brian Falldin issued a challenge:

I want someone to tell me. What has Michele Bachmann done for the 6th district? Name one positive thing she’s done for her constituents.

Well, it’s Day 5 – and we’re still waiting….tune in in two days to The Friday Edition of AM-950’s Minnesota Matters program and Brian Falldin, Dusty Trice, and yours truly – the ol’ TwoPutter – will give an update!

We did have an interesting caller last Monday…let’s listen!!!

TwoPuttTommy On Your Radio – Today, Friday, Sept 19th!

September 18, 2009

Ladies and Gentlemen, yours truly – the ol’ TwoPutter – is hosting the Friday Edition of “Minnesota Matters” on AM-950 KTNF, The Voice of Minnesota! So, tune in the radio today to AM-950, or listen live on your computer, here. The Friday Edition runs from 6:00pm to 7:00. Joining in-studio will be fellow blogger Brian Falldin. Dusty Trice will be calling in from GOPer John Kline’s Town Farce Hall. Since David Day knows the studio call-in line, I’m sure we’ll hear about the Anoka County DFL’s 6th Annual Beast Feast, but: that’s just a guess.

In 2003, the Minnesota House was controlled by the GOP (Erik Paulsen was the GOP Majority Leader). Matt Entenza’s collegues then chose him to be House DFL leader – and now the DFL has an almost veto-proof majority. Matt is now running for governor and will call in around 6:30.

We’ll also be talking about the continuing Jack Abramoff Scandal, and we’re definitely taking phone calls – the studio call-in number is 952-946-6205 — and we will be giving away one copy of Bill Prendergast’s exceptional comic book: False Witness! The Michele Bachmann Story (Part 1).

So, again, tune in the radio today to AM-950, or listen live on your computer, here.

And here’s three YouTubes you’re not going to want to miss!

AM950 Radio owner Janet Robert talks about the success of her progressive talk radio station in a format universe that had been dominated by right wing local and national radio talk programs. Blogger Tommy Johnson joins Ms. Robert to weigh in on talk readio and the new media.

State Public Defender John Stuart talks about the challenges confronting Minnesota’s court system prompted by cuts to the number of public defenders serving the poor.

This video memoriam honors the 10th anniversary of the death of state legislator Willard Munger, Minnesota’s “Mr. Environment.” The segment features scenes from a documentary-in-progress about Mr. Munger.

The ol' TwoPutter on AM-950, The Voice Of Minnesota – Today!

August 26, 2009

Mike McIntee is very busy today, working on a special project, so he asked yours truly, the ol’ TwoPutter, to take over hosting duty today at 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on AM-950 radio’s “Quick On The UpTake” show.

I’ll be joined in-studio by Coleen Rowley, and we’ll be talking about health care, torture, and we’ll finish with a tribute to Ted Kennedy. So dial your radio to 950 on the AM bandwidth, or link here to listen on your computer.

And we’re happy to take your phone calls – especially during the Ted Kennedy segment, where you can offer your own tribute to America’s “Liberal Lion.”

The Call-In Line is (952) 946-6205; and again, to listen live on your computer, link here.

TwoPuttTommy On Your Radio – Tonight!

August 13, 2009

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I’ll be sitting next to Host Mark Heaney tonight on “The Mark Heaney Show” from 6 to 7 pm on AM-950 KTNF – “The Voice Of Minnesota.”

I’m not sure what all we’ll be talking and taking listener calls about; however, I am sure at some point we’ll be talking about “CommentGate” – the GOP Smear of GOP State Rep. Laura Brod – link here for Brian Falldin’s round-up of CommentGate. DustyTrice.com has a good wrap-up, too, and I’ve written about CommentGate here, “Who’s IP Is It?” and here, “…a Republican staffer in the capital…” and here, “Does Andy Gildea Still Work In Rep. Marty Seifert’s Capitol Office?” and again today here, “Another Piece In The CommentGate Puzzle”.

It is indeed a sordid tale of the GOPer’s dirty politicking, but then again: you simply cannot spell “dirty politicking” without “GOP.”

So at 6:00 pm tune in the ol’ radio to 950 on the am dial, or listen via your computer.

FactCheck.org: "And Bachmann is flat wrong…"

June 26, 2009

This will come as no surprise, but: FactCheck.org just debunked a whole bunch of what Bachmann MotorMouth Overdrive recently claimed. Let’s look!

Q – Is ACORN providing workers for the 2010 census?

Did the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) sign on as a “national partner” with the U.S. Census Bureau to sign up over 1 million temporary workers to help with the 2010 census?

A – No. ACORN employees will not be taking the census. The group is one of more than 30,000 “partners” that will help publicize the event.

That’s the short of the most recent debunking Machmann MotorMouth Overdrive. Not that that will stop her from continuing to repeat debunked stuff; after all – she’s a republiCon.

Here’s some of the long, from FactCheck.org’s analysis:

ACORN “will be in charge of going door-to-door and collecting data from the American public,” said Rep. Michele Bachmann in mid-June. “This is very concerning.” Saying she was worried about ACORN’s supposed involvement in gathering census data, the Minnesota Republican announced that she won’t participate in the census beyond answering how many individuals reside in her household, “because,” she maintained, “the Constitution doesn’t require any information beyond that.” Actually, the Constitution, under Article 1, Section 2, simply requires that an “enumeration” be done every 10 years to apportion the members of the House, but that it be done “in such manner” as Congress “shall by law direct.” And Congress has seen fit to require everyone to answer truthfully whatever census questions they are asked, under threat of a $100 penalty for failure to answer and $500 for lying.

And Bachmann is flat wrong about ACORN going door-to-door and gathering data. Being “partners” with the Census Bureau doesn’t entail as close a relationship as one might think.

OK, Bachmann bein’ bein’ psycho-stupid and “flat out wrong” isn’t “news” to most folk reading this. What IS news, is:

Tonight, on AM-950 KTNF radio, Big E and yours truly (the ol’ TwoPutter) are Guest Hosting The Mark Heaney Show.

OK, that’s not “new” – Big E posted that yesterday.

What is “new” is that one of our guests will be Ken Avidor, cover artist for the new comic book “False Witness! – the Michele Bachmann story (vol. 1)” – and we’ll be giving away a signed copy of said comic book to one (maybe even two!) lucky listeners that call in!!!

Not only is this comic book funny, it has the added benefit of bein’ true.

Bill Predergast actually wrote it, but it’s our understanding Bill is out of town and unavailable, so we’ll be discussing this comic with Avidor, who is quite familiar with Little Miss Hiding In The Weeds due to his work over at DumpBachmann.Blogspot.com

So, listen in to AM-950 KTNF radio between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm for your chance to win this fabulous prize!

Oh – and you can order it online, here.
