T Minus 172 – when ticket counters fly

July 31, 2008

”I am here to make an announcement that this Thursday, ticket counters and airplanes will fly out of Ronald Reagan Airport.”

—President George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Oct. 3, 2001

Of course, those ticket counters are a little rough upon landing…..but on the bright side? Only 172 more days, until the End Of An Error.

T Minus 173 – I'm the Commander Guy

July 30, 2008

“I’m the commander — see, I don’t need to explain — I do not need to explain why I say things. That’s the interesting thing about being president.” — George W. Bush, as quoted in Bob Woodward’s Bush at War

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s more of that Napoleonic Complex, from the guy that said it’d be easier if he were he were the dictator, and that he’s “The Decider.”

T Minus 174 – oil imports from overseas

July 29, 2008

“It is clear our nation is reliant upon big foreign oil. More and more of our imports come from overseas.”—President George W. Bush, Beaverton, Ore., Sep. 25, 2000

Still hard to believe this guy won. Well, the Supreme Court ruled he did, so I guess you can say Boy Blunder stole the election, fair and square. And this just goes to show that Janaury 20th, 2009 will definitely be The End Of An Error.

T Minus 175 – Consequences …

July 28, 2008

“Anybody who is in a position to serve this country ought to understand the consequences of words.” – George orWell Bush, Nov. 1, 2006

Ladies and Gentlemen, today brings us another Double Dose Of Dumbya:

“There are some who feel like that the conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is bring them on. We’ve got the force necessary to deal with the security situation.” George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., July 3, 2003

Amazing, isn’t it? In 2003, Boy Blunder challenges the insurgents, and to add injury to insult, claims there’s enough forces to provide security, when General Shinseki testified there wasn’t. Time has proven General Shinseki correct, and Boy Blunder, well, a blunderer. Then in 2006, Boy Blunder claims there’s consequences of words.

Really? Just when did Boy Blunder have consequences for anything he’s ever said?

January 20th, 2009 will be The End Of An Error.

T Minus 176 – "If this were a dictatorship…"

July 27, 2008

“If this were a dictatorship, it’d be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I’m the dictator.” —President-elect George W. Bush, at a photo-op with congressional leaders during his first trip to Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C., Dec. 19, 2000

Ladies and Gentlemen, today’s a daily double of Dumbya:

“I’m the decider, and I decide what is best. And what’s best is for Don Rumsfeld to remain as the Secretary of Defense.” – George Dubya Bush, Washington, D.C. April 18, 2006

Now, Ladies and Gentlemen, while you look at these remember that yesterday, we noted that Donnie RumsFailed said this:

“I am not going to give you a number for it because it’s not my business to do intelligent work.” –Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, asked to estimate the number of Iraqi insurgents while testifying before Congress, Feb. 16, 2005

So, what we have here, is Boy Blunder playing “The Decider”, and deciding to keep a guy that claims it’s not his business to do intelligent work.

Only 176 more days until The End Of An Error – January 20th, 2009.

T Minus 177 – "I am not so analytical"

July 26, 2008

”I’m also not very analytical. You know I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things.” — President George orWell Bush, aboard Air Force One, June 4, 2003

DOH! Like, who didn’t know that??!? Unfortunately, Boy Blunder surrounded himself with like (lack?) minded people:

“I am not going to give you a number for it because it’s not my business to do intelligent work.” –Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, asked to estimate the number of Iraqi insurgents while testifying before Congress, Feb. 16, 2005

Rumsfeld was eventually let go, because he replaced “The Powell Doctrine” – which consists of warfare conducted with overwhelming forces – with what I like to call “The RumsFailed Doctrine”, which consists of “war on the cheap.” So Rummy is gone, and in 177 days, Boy Blunder will be, too. January 20th, 2009 will be The End Of An Error.

"T Minus 178" – Boy Blunder said WHAT??!?

July 25, 2008

“Security is the essential roadblock to achieving the road map to peace.” – George aWol Bush, Washington, D.C., July 25, 2003

And “security” (more to the point, lack thereof) is why we’re still mired in the sand, in Iraq. Those that remember remember that before The War Of Choice, General Shinseki testified to congress that it would take several hundred thousand troops to win the battle and secure the peace. They also remember that after The Good General testified, but before Boy Blunder uttered the Bushism above, the Pentagon’s Number 2 ChickenHawk-In-Charge, Paul “Give That Girl A RAISE!” Wolfowitz, said this:

“It’s hard to conceive that it would take more forces to provide stability in post-Saddam Iraq than it would take to conduct the war itself and to secure the surrender of Saddam’s security forces and his army. Hard to imagine.”
–Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, testifying before the House Budget Committee prior to the Iraq war, Feb. 27, 2003

Yes, indeed, Ladies and Gentlemen – January 20th, 2009 will indeed be The End Of An Error.

“T Minus 179” – Boy Blunder Warns of Himself

July 24, 2008

“America better beware of a candidate who is willing to stretch reality in order to win points.” — George orWell Bush, aboard his campaign plane, Sept. 18, 2000

DOH! But not only was Bush The Lesser willing to stretch reality, he and his misAministration were willing to do it over and Over and OVER again. How many times, just on Iraq? Well, the Center For Public Integrity says 935 times, and here’s how they say it:

”in a widely reported study of orchestrated deception, the Center found that President Bush and seven top officials made 935 false statements leading up to the Iraq war – and offer them in a database for all to see.

Link here and see for yourself, in the searchable database.

But if you really want to see someone willing to stretch reality in order to win points, link here, which describes this guy, here.

Thankfully, there’s only 179 days until January 20th, 2009 – The End Of An Error

"T Minus 180" And The Discourse

July 23, 2008

“And there is distrust in Washington. I am surprised, frankly, at the amount of distrust that exists in this town. And I’m sorry it’s the case, and I’ll work hard to try to elevate it.” — George “Dubya” Bush, interview on National Public Radio, January 29th, 2007

This quote is from the Texas Oil Man (that couldn’t find oil in Texas). Fortunately for Shrub, while he was running oil companies like Arbusto Energy into the ground, he had friends. Well, his daddy had friends. Good friends. Friends that could find oil in Texas, and Saudi Arabia, too. And they took care of Boy Blunder.

Once installed into the Oval Office, Boy Blunder brought some of these friends with him, and made some more. Not many of the new ones have been as dedicated a cheerleader as Norm “Smokescreen” Coleman, R=Lapdog, who has voted with Dubya at around a 90% clip. Coleman had Bush’s back while Bush was running the language and the country into the ground. Norm’s also a big backer of Bush’s Brain, Karl Rove. Disclosing the identity of undercover agents is no problemo in Norm’s world, as long as the leaker is Karl Rove. And that’s exactly how Coleman voted in 2005. Yet Dubya’s acting surprised at the lack of trust for his misAdministration?

There’s a saying for Boy Blunder And The Plunderers that makes a lot o’ sense, and that’s ”stick a fork in ‘em; they’re done.” January 20th, 2009 will be The End Of An Error.

"T Minus 181" and Adventures In BushSpeak

July 22, 2008

“But all in all, it’s been a fabulous year for Laura and me.” – George orWell Bush, summing up his first year in office, Washington, D.C., Dec. 20, 2001

Yeah, “right.” Fabulous, simply fabulous. Thankfully, there’s only 181 days until The End Of An Error.
